this independence day was eventful to say the least.
we headed to g and pop's on the 2nd to enjoy some swimming before going out for our anniversary. max threw up on the way over but spent the afternoon enjoying the pool.
after swimming, he started feeling bad and threw up again.
then seemed fine.
we left for our date.
he threw up again.
the next morning he woke up and seemed great.
another afternoon of swimming.
my parents were having people over for the 3rd so we decided to stay for dinner bc max seemed like he was doing okay.
but around 4pm he threw up again.
then slept.
then threw up again. and again. and again.
by the time we were heading home i was getting a bit concerned and so i called the dr.
they sent us to cooks childrens er.
2 nausea iv meds, 2 fluid ivs, stomach xray, blood work, and 6 hours later a very sleepy mommy, daddy, and re hydrated boy head back to g and pops to crash.
we woke up on the 4th and headed home to rest before our church's big 4th of july event. max was bummed he had to miss the parade that morning but was fine all day.
around dinnertime we headed to the event. we were there about 45 minutes before max crashed.
so we headed home. both my kids were asleep by 7pm. i was in bed by 10. joey watched fireworks with friends from church.
as with most holidays, we spend days celebrating, so on the 5th we had plans to swim with all the vanderveers.
we took the morning slow and easy and everyone seemed ready for the pool.
of the 3 hours we were there, max swam about 35 minutes.
he and joey did this the rest of the time, which was exactly what they needed.
and graham and i did this, which was exactly what we needed.
even with all the craziness, we still had some fun times.
(and have plans to see fireworks one friday in grapevine to make up for missing them!)
