pumpkin patch

we decided to brave the flower mound pumpkin patch but this year we went on a thursday morning....much much better idea! it was so empty for our 1st hour so max just got to 'go fast' (run and run)!

every time max sees mickey he says "hot dog" bc of the hot dog song on the cartoon....guess i've got some teaching to do before our 1st disney trip!

the boy did not want to stop for any pictures....the 1st sign that he is about to be 2

we ran for the hayride line as soon as they opened it to the public (and it didn't get stuck in mud like last year) so it was a success!
max had no problem saying 'cheese' for the nice lady who took our picture (of course :)

'hi elmo' 'hi cookie'

this cracked me up...i showed him where to put his face,
but of course he just found his own peek hole!

'e see barney'

i'm loving these fun family times with our big boy! i can't believe how different this fall has been compared to last year....God has truly given us a great gift in max!

tyler state park

for columbus day weekend, we went camping with joey's parents at tyler state park. it was such a fun and relaxing time....and max had a blast!

on our way there we ate at a mexican place in canton.
max has a new like for chips and hot sauce.

playing with the trucks papaw got him. max pretty much drove these or cars around the campsite the whole time we were there!

singin' by the campfire

max say "marshmallow!"

checking out the wildlife...there is a raccoon in the tree if you look closely. funny story: on night 2 of our trip, a very curious raccoon snuck up to our campsite and was very interested in the chair i was sitting in. he was also very interested in my father-in-laws hand and ended up giving it a nibble! what a crazy memory!

the family

there was a great playground that we rode our bikes to...max loved it!

papaw, max, and ana at the rose gardens in tyler...i must say, it was a bit disappointing but we asked around and many people in tyler was worried bc the roses weren't really blooming like they should of been for the rose festival the next weekend....

reenactment of the raccoon story

we took a paddle boat ride around the lake.....it was hard work for these 2 guys, but also hard work for me bc the whole time max just wanted to "go swim".

what a great mini vacation!

big tex

we headed to the big d for the state fair last week...we took the train and max loved it! he kept saying "i see the choo choo." (see means 'hear'-we are trying to teach him the difference)

meeting elsie the borden cow

we enjoyed the traditional corn dog and funnel cake, along with fried frito pie and a fried twinkie...yum!

max LOVED the petting zoo

this guy was our family's favorite!

this is our little farmer at the "hands on farm"- a must for any fair goers with little kiddos...so cute!

the bird show was fun too....right before it started a sweet older couple gave max a toy truck so he was way more into that then the birds.

one tired, but awesome little boy!

i'm loving joey's new schedule with thursdays off...it is giving us some awesome opportunities for good quality family time like this wonderful day!
