awww...traditions!

traditions make me happy... and this time of year is just full of them! we love getting a real christmas tree! next year, we are planning to go to a christmas tree farm so we can cut down our own.
max got to start a new tradition....visiting santa! even though we are not planning to do santa at our house, i think it's still okay to go see him (especially when its free in your neighborhood and there is NO line)....it's kinda like going to disney world to see mickey...you know he's not real but you still want to visit him :)

i knew max was going to be curious about the beard!

and another yummy tradition...joey always bakes me a yellow cake with chocolate icing for my birthday...it's my favorite! and he's my favorite too bc he loves me enough to bake it!

it's beginning to look alot like.....

...Christmas. this season is just such a fun time of year. during thanksgiving break, we spent some time walking around southlake and discovered that if you want a picture in Santa's sleigh, the middle of the day is the perfect time. i thought these picture turned out cute!

being thankful

apparently, someone doesn't see the joy in running the turkey trot, watching the parades, eating til you can't eat anymore, napping, and then eating dessert til you can't eat anymore!

mmmmmm.....yummy turkey!

12 months

all i can say is good thing this was our last guitar picture bc (as you can see), sitting/laying still are NOT our favorite things to at this time!

height: 31 1/2 inches (90%)
weight: 23lbs 12oz (70%)
head: 48 1/2 cm (100%)
our dr is a little concerned about how max's head has been growing (he has been all over the charts since he was born), so we will have a follow-up appt for that in about 6 weeks. joey is going to come with me so that the dr can see for herself that this might just be a genetic thing :)
max continues to walk more and more each day. with this new found freedom there are alot more "no"s being heard around our house. he does not miss his bottle one bit and loves to drink milk! he is still showing us his stubborn side when it comes to eating veggies but we just keep trying...other then that, he'll eat pretty much anything and he eats alot. just yesterday we ate the same amount of chickfila nuggets (5 each)!
i still can't believe how big he is and how much our lives have changed in just 1 year...God has truly blessed our little family!
