one month (one day late)

max is one month old! well, he was yesterday, but his mom got her days all mixed up and thought it was today until late last night...a side affect of having a newborn i guess...

a girl i used to work with gave me this idea.... so i am planning to take max's picture next to joey's electric guitar each month so we can see how he grows...i think its pretty cute!

we wont take max back to the dr until he is 2 months, but his official stats at 3 weeks were

weight: 7lbs 3oz (10th %)

height: 21inches (50th %)

head: 36cm (25th %)

max's one month birthday was a really great day for joey...after 10 years of driving the "black stallion", he has now upgraded to the "gray goose"...we bought a new truck! i am sure joey will show it off to all of you very soon!

only 6 days til christmas!

can't believe that christmas is less then a week away....i just love this time of year with all its traditons and time with family!

max has a lot of christmas outfits so i decided to put him in one today...here's a pic of him in a "my 1st christmas" onesie that my dad and stepmom got for him...thanks bapa and nana!

oh christmas tree!

each year, we get a real christmas tree...there's just something special about going to the lot and picking out a tree. and this year was extra special as we brought max along!

when we got home and starting decorating the tree, joey said "this christmas is going to be the best...because of max"...i have to say, that as much as i like being a mom, i love watching joey be a dad even more.

happy birthday to me!

my birthday is always a fun day and this year was no exception....just a little different as max tagged along for the fun. on sunday, we ate lunch at my moms. joey made me a yellow cake with chocolate icing (my favorite!) like he has each year for the past 5 years...he is so thoughtful!

then on monday, my boys took me to the movies...joey and i watched 4 Christmases while max slept in his sling. at dinner, joey and i talked about how lucky we are to have each other and now to have max...God truly is an awesome God!

almost 2 weeks...

...and doing great! today, we went to the dr for a 2 week check and max is an all-star! he weighs 7 lbs now, is jaundice free, and put up with all the poking and prodding like a champ. he does have a blocked tear duct, but hopefully that will resolve itself with just a little help from us.

we are looking forward to getting out of the house a little more now that we have settled in to life as parents, and especially now that nursing is going so much better....all those moms out there told me that nursing would be really hard at 1st, but honestly, ladies, i had no idea. i am just so glad for the encouragement of joey, my mom, and other friends who helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel. don't get me wrong, we don't have things down perfect, but they are so much better then just a week ago.

we start our christmas traditions this weekend, so i am sure i will be a bloggin' fool with all the pics of our little man....we are so proud of him!
